Full Time Education

Children who attend the Pitanga Centre full time are taught according to the standardized British curriculum to ensure they are meeting international standards of education. Before each child starts at the centre, they are observed by Ms Peju and have their own Individual Education Plan created, which is used to adapt the standard curriculum to suit each child's needs and abilities. Following this model of education, some of our students have successfully gone on to continue their education in schools in Britain, Portugal and South Africa as well as schools right here in Angola.

The full school day runs from 8h00 to 15h30. For details of term dates, download the school calendar below.

Part Time Education

Some of the children who attend the centre and are not physically able or socially ready to undergo a full day, benefit from being able to attend either the morning or the afternoon sessions and receive the same level of education as those attending full time.

Some children who are already attending a mainstream school, find they are in need of some extra support in their education or with dealing with their difficulties, such as attention deficit or behavioural problems. As such, many of these children will attend their mainstream school for morning sessions, then come to us for the afternoon, to focus on their individual needs.

Half day sessions run from 8h00 - 12h00 or 12h30 -15h30

Additional Tutoring

If your child attends a mainstream school but is struggling to cope with the work or needs some help with improving their, focus, understanding and ability to complete their assignments to a high standard, additional tutoring may provide that extra support.

During this time your child is taught personalised lessons to improve their individual education or provided with one-to-one support in completing their homework and school assignments.

We also offer English Language sessions for children and adults wishing to learn or improve their spoken and written English

Sessions run on a Saturday from 9h00- 13h00.
